LITTLE LINGUISTIC WORKSHOP
For the children at Charity Care Centre Asyura, the workshop provided an
opportunity to learn English in a fun, supportive, and creative environment,
something they rarely experience in their daily routine. Through interactive
games, real-life roleplay, and group-based tasks, the children not only
improved their basic language skills but also gained self-confidence and social
interaction skills. The theme-based approach sparked their curiosity and made
learning feel exciting and enjoyable.
For the university students, particularly those from the TESL programme, the
workshop served as a platform to put their pedagogical knowledge into
practice. They learned to adapt their teaching methods to suit a non-formal
environment, catering to children from diverse age groups and backgrounds.
Beyond teaching, the experience enhanced their soft skills—especially in areas
such as communication, teamwork, leadership, and event management. It also
deepened their sense of empathy, social awareness, and civic responsibility
key traits of future educators.
