PROJEK PEMBINAAN SISTEM PENGAIRAN MENGGUNAKAN SIPHON

UNIVERSITI TEKNOLOGI MARA Sekolah Kebangsaan Seafield 3

1) Sustainability and Environmental Impact
The program promotes eco-friendly irrigation by reducing reliance on electricity and fossil fuels. By using a gravity-fed siphon system, it conserves water, minimizes energy consumption, and aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 9, 11, and 12. This initiative also encourages responsible water management, helping communities adopt more sustainable agricultural practices.

2) Economic Benefits
By eliminating the need for electric or fuel-powered water pumps, the system reduces operational costs for faers. The low-maintenance design further cuts down on long-te expenses, making faing more affordable. This cost-saving solution is particularly beneficial for small-scale faers, allowing them to reinvest in other agricultural needs.

3) Community Development and Empoweent
The program fosters strong collaboration between students, faers, and industry partners, strengthening community ties. Faers gain hands-on experience in operating and maintaining the siphon system, promoting self-sufficiency. Additionally, the involvement of stakeholders like Viucom Sdn. Bhd. and local NGOs enhances public-private cooperation for future sustainable projects.

4) Educational and Knowledge Transfer
Engineering students involved in the project gain practical experience in system design, project management, and community engagement. They learn to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges, improving their problem-solving and teamwork skills. For the local community, the program provides valuable training on sustainable irrigation methods, equipping them with knowledge for long-te water conservation.
