Our SULAM project successfully promoted digital literacy and design skills through an engaging and interactive platform. The project introduced various IT and design tools to a wide audience, empowering them with knowledge and skills that are practical for personal and professional use. By focusing on tools like Canva, Figma, GitHub, and web development basics, we simplified complex concepts, making them accessible and enjoyable for individuals from diverse educational and professional backgrounds. Instagram served as an ideal educational platform that allow us to create a visually engaging and beginner-friendly space for learning. We shared tutorials, tips, and videos, breaking down intricate concepts into easy-to-understand content that could be consumed at the audience’s own pace. This approach fostered an online community where individuals could ask questions, share insights, and grow their knowledge collaboratively. The Canva design competition was a major highlight which gives participants a chance to showcase and develop their skills. It also encouraged active participation, fostering a sense of accomplishment and sparking interest in design tools among a broader audience. For us as students, we gained valuable hands-on experience in project management, content creation, and digital marketing. It enhanced our teamwork, communication, and time management abilities while deepening our understanding of the tools we showcased. By promoting the use of IT and design tools, the project contributed to narrowing skill gaps in the workforce. It also highlighted the importance of digital literacy in enhancing job prospects and professional growth, aligning with industry needs. Finally, through the SULAM Showcase, we shared our findings and methodologies with a broader audience. This provided an opportunity to demonstrate the impact of our initiative and inspire others to pursue similar efforts in fostering digital literacy and creative exploration.
