CREATING EQUAL PATHS TO INNOVATION AND HOPE
For Community: Our project opened children's minds to possibilities in STEM fields by exposing them to cutting-edge technology like drones, EVs, and VR. This hands-on experience sparked their creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking skills. For many, it was their first interaction with such technologies, breaking barriers and encouraging them to dream beyond their current circumstances. Furthermore, the program provided an opportunity for the staff of Rumah Charis to see the potential benefits of incorporating technology into their educational programs. It also fostered stronger community ties as the initiative demonstrated how local tech companies and academic institutions could collaborate to bring educational innovation to underprivileged groups.
For Student: This event allowed us to apply our academic knowledge in a meaningful way, bridging theoretical learning with real-world application. By designing and executing all these activities, we enhanced our teamwork, project management, especially communication skills. Engaging with children in Rumah Charis deepened our empathy and understanding of the role of technology in fostering equality. Dealing with issues like time constraints and technical difficulties refined our problem-solving and adaptability. Through this experience, we grew as socially responsible individuals and gaining practical skills that will benefit us in our future careers.
For Industry: This project highlighted the vital role that industries can play in fostering social change through corporate social responsibility. By partnering with us, companies like Tesla and Pico XR showcased their commitment to supporting education and community development. Their involvement not only boosted children’s learning experience but also strengthened their brand image as advocates of accessible technology. The project also served as a model for how technology can be used to bridge social gaps, encouraging other organizations to explore similar collaborations. The initiative also raised awareness about the importance of early STEM education, particularly for marginalized groups, fostering a greater appreciation for technology's potential to drive social impact.
